DMA Fellowship is a senior adult ministry for those 55 years of age and older.

The initials, “DMA” stand for “Don’t Mention Age.” This group was organized in 1987 for the purpose of spiritual fellowship, friendship and outreach for the Lord.  To join the DMA Fellowship an individual or spouse must be 55 years of age or older and attend at least one monthly luncheon or activity. Honorary membership is considered by recommendation of the officers for those not quite 55. All members are encouraged to purchase and wear the official DMA Fellowship name tag to all meetings and activities.

Officers of DMA Fellowship are elected each October, to serve a one year term. Officers must be members of Johnston Chapel Baptist Church. Serving until October 2018 are:

January 12th – Cancelled.

March 9th – Joe Sheets of DermOne, Inc. will present “Senior Skin Care.”  Please bring soup, salad, sandwiches & sweets for lunch to share with one another.

April 13th – Todd Carr, a Sales Associate with Humana Inc. will present “Social Security Tool Kit.”

May 11th – Dr. Joe Saunders, Professor and Chair of Chemistry at Bluefield College, will present “Wonders on the Wing, from Near and Far.”

June 8thth – Ben Shrader, a Financial Consultant with Shrader Investment Company, will present “Managing Investment Risks in Retirement.”

July 13th – Covered dish picnic at the church pavilion at 6:00 p.m.  Please note that this meeting will replace our regular morning meeting at 10:30 a.m.

August 10th – Eric & Kristanna Richardson and family, Missionaries to France with the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism will report on their ministry.

September 14th – Rev. Craig Hammond, Director of the Bluefield Union Mission, will bring a program about “the busiest mission in America” that has served our community since 1931.

October 12th – Mike Wade, the Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-a Princeton will share the history of Chick-fil-a and his personal history with Chick-fil-a.

November 9th – The Princeton Senior High School Madrigal Singers under the direction of Mr. Allen Kade will present a concert in the church auditorium.

December 14th – Annual Christmas Dinner at Fincastle Country Club. Pastor John King will present our program. (Watch for more details.)

 

D.M.A. Fellowship sponsors a number of trips and activities through the year.

April 8th

We will travel north to the beautiful campus of Appalachian Bible College in Bradley, West Virginia for their annual Spring Music Festival.  Dinner and shopping will take place at Tamarack which features West Virginia-made products, hand-made crafts, arts and cuisine.  The bus will depart from church at 4:00 p.m.  Cost is $2 per person.  See Pastor Jim Nofsinger to reserve your place on the bus.

May 25th – 27th

Creation & the Ark Encounter is a 3-day tour that highlights the awesome power of God as found in Genesis, the Book of Beginnings. Tour highlights will include:

August 12th

“Not Just Another Love Story” will be seen at NarroWay Productions, the premier Christian theater of the South, located outside of Charlotte, NC.  Take in a delicious dinner and a hearty serving of Southern hospitality as every audience is greeted and served by the NarroWay cast. From an exciting collection of 40’s favorites to a stirring patriotic medley, “Not Just Another Love Story” is both nostalgic and inspirational.  It is based on the biblical account of Hosea, told during the days of World War II.  Cost is $40 per person for transportation, meal and show.  See Pastor Jim Nofsinger by July 13th to reserve your place.  The bus will leave from church at 8:00 a.m.

October 20th

“Ragtime, the Musical,” will be seen at the Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theatre, a state-of-the-art German-themed dinner theatre nestled in the beautiful Appalachian mountains of southwest Virginia.  Set in the volatile melting pot of turn-of-the-century New York, three distinctly American tales are woven together in this musical. Together, they confront history’s timeless contradictions of wealth and poverty, freedom and prejudice, hope and despair… and what it means to live in America in this Tony-winning musical. Cost is $46 per person for transportation, meal and show. Please make your reservation with Pastor Jim Nofsinger by October 1st to reserve your place.  The bus will leave from church at 5:15 p.m.
