A ministry of Johnston Chapel Baptist Church and Marantha Baptist Church

"Educating for Life!"

MISSION:
Mercer Christian Academy is a private, non-profit Christian school (K4-grade 12), which strives to offer high academic and spiritual standards to the families of Mercer and surrounding counties. Since 1980, MCA has been fulfilling its mission to assist parents and the local Bible-believing church in the task of training their children to reach their fullest potential, both academically and spiritually, recognizing each as a unique creation of God.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE:
Mercer Christian Academy is nationally accredited through the American Association of Christian Schools. Our Stanford 9 Achievement Test scores are above county, state, and national levels, reflecting our dedication to academic excellence. At the elementary level, MCA offers a traditional classroom setting with a focus on the BASICS.reading (phonics-based), writing, and arithmetic. Our secondary program stresses readiness for college, the workplace, and successful Christian living. At MCA, students can choose between three different diploma tracks: a general diploma, a college preparatory diploma, or an advanced college preparatory diploma. Advanced placement (AP) courses and dual credit (college and high school credit) courses are also offered.

CLUBS AND STUDENT ACTIVITIES:
To aid academic and spiritual development, MCA offers a wide variety of extra-curricular activities. Students are strongly encouraged to participate in these clubs, student activities, and service projects, which include American Christian Honor Society, Student Council, Right-to-Life, Junior Civitan, Yearbook, and more. MCA has also developed a reputation for competitive, state championship level sports programs. Interscholastic sports are offered in basketball, volleyball, cross country, and track-and-field.
