MOPPETS

MOPPETS is a fully staffed child care service and is a ministry of Johnston Chapel Baptist Church.  They provide free child-care for your children while you attend the MOPS meeting.  The people that serve as caregivers during this time are well-prepared to give your child a quality experience while you enjoy interaction with the other moms.  Each of the five children's rooms are in close proximity to the MOPS room.  Just as you will enjoy making new friends during MOPS, your children will be playing with kids their own age doing things they enjoy, making friendships along the way as well.

Each age group has their own toy bin that is used only during MOPPETS.  These toys are cleaned after each meeting.

Infants 0-12 M will be cared for in their own nursery complete with cribs, swings and age appropriate toys.  Mothers have the option of taking a beeper that the caregivers can use in case your little one needs you.  There is a white board available for you to write feeding schedules, special considerations, nap times and any other relevant information individual to your child's needs.
Toddlers 12-24 M will be cared for in their own nursery equipped with a TV for videos and music for dancing.  There are age appropriate toys and plenty of special TLC from their caregivers.  Beepers are available for you to use.
Toddlers 2-3 Y will be in their own playroom with age appropriate toys and videos.  They will be taken to the bathroom as necessary (for those that are potty trained of course).  Caregivers are prepared to help the children color or make small crafts for the day.
Children 3-4 Y  will be together to ensure age appropriate play and learning situations.  They will work on activities and crafts according to the schedule the caregivers have made.
Children 4-6 Y will be in their own setting which will ensure that their minds are stimulated with preschool level activities, games and toys.

Child drop-off time:  9:15-9:30 AM

Child Pick-up time: 11:45 AM

THINGS TO REMEMBER

Schedule considerations

Please do not drop your children off before 9:15 AM.

Take your child to the bathroom/change their diaper (if necessary) before dropping them off.

Children must be picked up from the MOPPETS rooms before Noon.

Things to Remember

·         Sick children will not be permitted into the MOPPETS program.  Please know that it is not our intent to turn any child or mother away from the MOPPETS program but we have to protect all children.  If your child is sick they are susceptible to other illnesses as well as exposing well children to their illness.

Signs of illness are as follows:

General malaise

Congestion with cough

Diarrhea

Purulent runny nose

Irritability

Temperatures of 99 or above

Nausea/vomiting

Generalized rash

Known contact with anyone having chicken pox, hepatitis, meningitis, strep throat or scarlet fever

Place your child’s name on any personal items brought to the MOPPETS room:  bottles, toys, diaper bags, etc.

Your child will be placed in a MOPPETS room that is relevant for their age group for most of the MOPPETS year.

Please contact one of us if you have any further questions about our MOPPETS program.
