Dear Prayer Partners:

Merry Christmas!  What a blessing to write you during this glorious season of remembering the birth of Jesus Christ, the Lord of Glory, transformed into a human baby, so that He could grow into a man who communicates with us the way to enter the Kingdom of God.  I hope you will be able to open the attached Christmas card, that is my gift to you.

It has not been long since I wrote, but I wanted to share with you some answers to prayer.  Pastor Peter Rodoslavov has returned to Odessa, and is doing some better. But the prognosis for his cancer is poor. Pray for God’s will in his life, that Peter may accomplish all that God wants for him. He has many ministry responsibilities that must be turned over to other leaders. Pray for wisdom in these decisions.

Roma returned to Bible study in Shamanovka Wednesday!  Praise the Lord! Pray that He will seek the Lord with his whole heart and resist Satan’s efforts to discourage his faith.  Continue to pray for this fledgling church.  We usually meet at 5:00pm on Sundays for a worship service, but it is too dark for the people to walk to the auditorium.  With the service in Kubanka at 3:00, we cannot get there any earlier. Pray for wisdom, and for God’s Word to remain in the hearts of those who cannot come to services.

We praised the Lord in the last letter for the 6 weeks He gave me free of vertigo.  However, that illness has returned full-force as I have been ill nearly every day for 2 weeks. That can be really discouraging, but it gives me the opportunity to choose to focus on Jesus, His grace, and His purpose.  I thank the Lord for more time to study His Word, listen to messages over the internet from some of my supporting churches, and to listen to His voice. 2 Corinthians 4 has been such a strength to me! God will accomplish His purpose in my life. And the medical ministry continues thanks to my clinic assistants and to my new colleague Holly Friesen.

Please pray for the December 18 meeting of the steering committee for the pregnancy care center. Pray for the Christmas programs in villages around Odessa to draw people to Jesus Christ as Savior.  Pray for the upcoming clinics in December and January to touch patients’ lives physically and spiritually. Pray especially for the village of Krasnosyolka, that some patients will visit church services and seek the Lord.
