Text Box: In the current issue of Worldwide Challenge, we are featuring the story of two friends Aurelio and Alejandro, sharing the gospel with their other friends. In the article titled Los Amigos, Aurelio encourages Alejandro to be brave and tell his friends about Jesus. Although telling a friend about God’s love for them might seem like an easy thing to do, it can be nerve-wracking as well. Of course we want our friends to know Jesus. But why is telling them one of the hardest things to do? I think sometimes we need to be brave and just do it and other times, we need to earn their trust before discussing such serious topics. I have two good friends that I have known for a while, one since high school and one since college. Both are very dear to me and are aware that I am a Christian. I have talked with each of them about Christianity and what it means to be a Christian. But still even when the subject comes up, I fear what they will say. Why? I am not sure. Maybe because I want them to get it and become Christians and truthfully, maybe because I am scared of what they will think. My friends are some of the most important people to me. Shouldn’t they be the ones I talk about Jesus with the most? In the article, Alejandro over comes his fear and shares the gospel. My prayer for us is that we would indeed be bold in telling others about Christ. But especially with our friends. It may seem like we have a lot to lose, but our friends could lose spending eternity with God. I pray for boldness, courage and wisdom for each of us. After all, they are people who love us and care for us. We should be willing to do the same for them and share with them the most important truth in our lives.
