Dear Prayer Partners:

Greetings from WV! I have had over a week in Princeton after constant traveling in June. From the state of Washington to Pennsylvania, up to MD and down to SC! The medical conference in Seattle was excellent, but showed me how far away from American medicine I've grown in 16 years of living overseas. Pray for me July 26 when I take the re-certification exam for the American Board of Family Medicine.

The Medical Missions Interface at the ABWE home office was such a blessing! What a joy to see how God is using healthcare professionals around the world in different kinds of medical ministry. I enjoyed sharing about Ukraine, and several are interested in visiting sometime. Pray for God to raise up a new generation of healthcare professionals to meet the needs of Ukraine in the future!

Pastor Lonya in Krasnosyolka asked for prayer as they prepare for camp July 28--Aug 2. They will be staying in tents on the shore of a lake. He is expecting about 50 campers from Kubanka and Krasnosyolka. The leadership team is meeting every Tuesday evening to plan the program.

Lonya and Luba were happy that Shura from Kubanka made a public profession of faith and is seeking baptism. She has been coming to clinics and services for years, and had prayed to repent of her sin about a year ago. Now she is serious about following Christ. Pray that her faith will grow and that her example will encourage others to make their faith public. Thankfully we haven't heard any more about opposition to our ministry in Kubanka by the Russian Orthodox priest.

I had a great time sharing with the Johnston Chapel retirees at a picnic Thursday night. What a responsive group! I remember how Lonya and Luba were surprised during their trip to America at how energetic a group of retirees could be! :) I talked about culture shock and how churches can pray their missionaries through the phases of transition to a new culture.

Now I'm off to the ABWE Missionary Enrichment conference in Harrisburg, PA July 14-19. That's always an inspiring refreshing week. I won't have much e-mail access next week, so forgive me if I can't answer messages for a while.

Thank you for the praying for the medical team planning to come to Ukraine this fall. God has touched the hearts of two nurse practitioners to pray about joining us. So pray for God's direction for them, to be the answer to our prayers for another primary care provider.

Pray for Dr. Wayne Burgess, his wife Teresa and daughter Faith who will be serving in Ukraine for 2 weeks in August. Wayne will be covering the clinics Aug 5-14, and Teresa, a nurse, will be assisting. Faith is planning a children's ministry.

Thank you so much for continuing to pray for me through all the furlough travels. Now you can pray that I will finish "home ministry" well and for God to help me to accomplish much as I prepare to return to my 2nd home in Ukraine. He has provided every need!

Leaning on The Rock,
Miriam
