Introduction-

 

Paul vividly describes three awful steps of rejecting God & Christ:

 

I.                  THE  SUPPRESSION  OF  TRUTH – vv. 18-20

1-      The Suppressing of Truth - v. 18

 

 

2-      The Truth That Is Suppressed - vv. 19-20

 

 

 

II.               THE  PERVERSION  OF  TRUTH – vv. 21-23

1-      No Recognition of God

 

2-      Unthankful to God

 

3-      Empty Reasonings

 

4-      No More Light

 

5-      Idolatry

 

 

III.           THE  JUDGMENT  OF  GOD – vv. 24-32

      Note the chilling, repeated phrase- “God gave them over”

     

 

1-      To Physical Sin - vv. 24-25

 

 

2-      To Emotional Sin - vv. 26-27

 

 

3-      To Mental Sin - vv. 28-32

 

 

4-      To Vicarious Sin - v. 32
