II.     The Demands of Obedience – vv. 22-25

 

   A.  Do not be deceived by hearing the Word without putting it into practice. – vv. 22-24

 

   B.  Obey by taking action to do what God commands. – v. 25a

                     “Obedience is doing what you are told to do when you are told to do it with the right heart attitude.”

 

 

III.    The Dividends of Obedience – v. 25b

 

   A.  Great blessings are experienced by those who obey.

 

   B.  Obedient Christians are happy and productive. – See John 13:17

         

 

IV.    The Display of Obedience – vv. 26-27

 

     A.  A bridled tongue – v. 26

 

   B.  Compassionate help for those in need – v. 27a

 

   C.  A life separated from the corruption of the world – v. 27b
