Let Us Run!

Hebrews 12:1-2

I. Preparation – v. 1

A. Put aside every weight.

“The baggage of earthly concerns”

B. Put aside every sin.

Entangles and causes us to fall

II. Participation – v. 1

A. Past participants in fulfilling God’s plan

“A great cloud of witnesses” - See Hebrews 11.

B. God’s plan for our present participation

“Let us run … the race that is set before us.”

III. Perseverance – v. 1

A. Difficulties we face

This world is an obstacle course.

B. Diligence needed

Run with patient endurance.

IV. Perspective – “Looking unto Jesus.” – v. 2

A. Our Example

“...Endured the cross.”

B. Our Enabler

Fixing our eyes on Jesus Who is the Author and Finisher Of our faith.
